On July 11th, 2022, Christopher C. King was awarded the highest honor that the Greek state can give to a non-native. He was given Honorary Greek Citizenship before the Secretary General of Citizenship Athanasios Balerbas, in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Awarded a Public Diplomacy Grant for 2022 to present lectures in Athens, Ioannina, and Thessaloniki on the contribution of Greek-Jewish Women to Greek demotic music.

Awarded the Cultural Exchange Grant for 2014 by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation & APAP under the auspices of the National Council For Traditional Arts to document Roma and Epirote Music in Pogoni, Greece.
